Cyber risk e-learning for general practices
Strengthen your practice’s approach to cyber risk with three short online modules. Nominate a cyber risk lead, complete approximately 45 minutes of training and claim $150 for your practice.
Why it matters
General practices hold sensitive patient information. Understanding and managing cyber risk helps protect patients, your practice and the wider health system.
This training helps your nominated cyber risk lead identify, record and escalate risks as part of your practice’s wider risk management processes.
Who should complete the training?
Nominate someone responsible for overseeing cyber risk in your practice. This could be a practice owner, manager or another team member with delegated responsibility.
Their ongoing role includes helping ensure cyber risks are assessed, recorded on the practice risk register and raised with practice leadership.
Other team members are also encouraged to complete the training, but only one $150 payment is available per practice.
How to complete the training and claim
-
Log in to HealthLearn or Ko Awatea LEARN and search for “Cyber Risk” to find the course for primary health organisations.

-
Once you have completed all three modules, download your verified Record of Learning as evidence of completion.
-
Complete the claim form and upload your cyber risk lead’s verified Record of Learning.
The Workforce Hub will pay $150 to your practice once the verified record has been received.
